Temperature is the most common and critical measured parameter in industry. Measurement inaccuracy, even minor ones, can have a negative impact on efficiency, energy consumption and product quality.

Thermowells are closed metal tubes installed and sealed in process tanks or pipelines that protect temperature transmitters from the harsh conditions of industrial processes such as stress caused by flow, high pressure and corrosive chemicals.

The protective sleeve makes it easy to remove the transmitter from the process for calibration or replacement, without requiring shutting down or draining the pipeline.

The most common types of connection are threaded, welded and flanged.
